musings

What is it with painted toenails? I have only done mine twice that I recall in the last seven years. Once in Mexico (to complement my tan) and once for my wedding (to go with my fancy dress). But I know women who don't "do" their hair, no make up, fingernails ragged and sometimes bitten, but their toes are all done up in red, purple, or whathaveyou. I remember a guy friend in college who talked once about what a turn on it was to look down the bed and see painted toenails on the feet of his lady. Whatever.

If you take a picture of your fat self and post it someplace (refrigerator, closet, bathroom scale) does it really help you lose weight? Or do you just feel guilty about looking like a pig?

If your blog allows comments and nobody makes them, does that mean nobody is reading? Or that nobody cares? And what about people who don't allow comments on their blog? What's up with that?

I say that if you have time to paint your toenails, you shouldn't complain about not having enough time to do... Know what I'm saying?

My toenails are currently painted, but it's mostly to hide all the dirt under them from working outside at camp all month! :)

My toes are always painted, Beth - but probably only b/c I wear sandals all the time - my nails are NEVER painted b/c I can't keep polish on them. The stuff on my toes wears longer... and it's further from my eyes, so I am less obsessed w/ imperfections there.

I think the whole fat picture thing would just be guilt-inducing and cause me to eat my "bad foods" out, rather than from my own fridge.

I was wondering about the blog thing the other day when I first visited yours - wondered if I was "uncool" for posting comments, since there were no others. Notice how it stopped me - har.

I have you bookmarked and am checking in on you pretty much daily, but don't want to post stalker-ish little notes on everything you say...

Beth, I put you on my toolbar now that I know you're out there. I hope that someday you'll just remember that 'you asked for this.'
