bloody stumps

I cut my daughter's thumbs last night. Both of them. Her nails were long, I was in a hurry with the clippers, you get the idea. The sad thing is I didn't even realize I had cut them both. I realized one right away... screaming baby, blood, etc. But then a little while later I realized *both* of her thumbs were bleeding. Little blood splatters all over my shirt. Very sad baby.

Bad mama.

This never happened with Sammy, although I was warned it might. Baby girl is still a little pissed at me.

welcome to my blog

I had been using livejournal (www.livejournal.com/users/emw/) but decided to move over here. Hopefully this will be more than just a "Dear Diary" sort of thing. I've found that reviewing my old livejournal entries has been helpful, if only to help me remember what the hell I've been up to in the last couple of years. Reading Sammy's lj (www.livejournal.com/users/sammyt/) has been fun; comparing his development with Athena's. They are really different kids.
